H-1B Filing Fee- No More Extra $2000 Filing fee

In August 2010, USCIS has implemented Public Law 111-230 which requires H-1B dependent employers to pay an additional fee of $2,000.

This fee is only applicable to the employers who has 50 or more employees and has more than 50% of h-1b visa employees.

Here is the Good News ! This law is expiring on September 30, 2015. So, from October 1st 2015, the H-1B visa dependents will not be paying the additional fee of $2,000.

Here is the breakdown of the current H-1B Fees.

USCIS Fees

Base Filing Fee $325
USCIS Anti Fraud Fee $500
ACWIA Education and Training Fee $750 ( For employers less than 25 employees)or $1500 (For employees more than 25 employees)
Public Law 111-320 Fee (till Sep 30, 2015) $2,000
Premium Processing (Optional) $1,225

Removal of this fee will reduce a huge burden on small companies / consultancies who are H-1B dependents.

  1. in indian currency who much is approx. amount for filling H1B

  2. What does that mean?

If company with 25 or less do not have do not pay any fee for H1b?

  3. That’s bad news, since H1B abuse, which I assume if the 50/50 rule is applicable, is causing the debate about H1b in general. Nurturing this abuse might cause the entire H1B Programm to be folded.
In 2016 we’ll see the usual Indian outsourcing suspects to file H1Bs like crazy and that’s hurting everybody who has no ill-intend.
