H-1B Visa Stamping – Alternatives Approaches to Client Letter

It is always important to have the client letter when you are going to attend an Interview for your H-1B visa stamping. If you work full time, your employer’s offer letter or work authorization letter would be the client letter. But when you work as a contractor, client letter would be the letter which specifies the client you work to, your client’s location and other job details including your contract term. Some client companies provide you with the client letter, but few deny upon providing one based on the terms they would rather have with your employer.

There have been quite few cases where the applications wouldn’t get their visa stamped immediately and have been issued 221-g for further administrative processing. As already mentioned in my earlier posts, a number of factors play a role during the H-1B visa interview. If the reason for not obtaining the visa or having to wait for longer duration due to administrative processing is not having a client letter, H1BWiki provides you with an alternative methods you can follow to show the proof of your employment at your client location.

Acknowledgement Email from Colleagues:

You could ask a few of your colleagues at work to write an acknowledgement email and email it to you and you could then print it out for your visa interview. Make sure the email is sent and received on your company domain and there is a signature of your colleague at the end along with the company name, which would then make it look more genuine.

Print Email Conversations:

Additionally, you could print your email conversations. You would have conversations discussing your work with few other colleagues and deciding on what to do in relevant to your work. These emails could definitely add more weight while showing your proof of employment to the visa officer.

Security Badges:

If you have security badge with you name and/or picture on it, you can definitely use it and produce it at your visa interview.

The above mentioned alternatives have been contributed by our blog visitors. Thank you for sharing. Although it does not guarantee your visa stamping, but carrying these documents would benefit in case you may need to show the proof of your employment without having a client letter.
