U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) announced today that it has received 233,000 H-1B petitions during the filing period which began April 1, including petitions filed for the advanced degree exemption.
The lottery was completed today, April 13th 2015. USCIS conducted the lottery for Masters (Advanced) degree first. All the advanced degree petitions which are not selected in the initial lottery are added to the General Quota (65,000) and the lottery has been done for these applications.
USCIS will reject and return the petition with filing fees, unless it is found to be a duplicate filing.

Selected Petitions List sent to Processing Centers
The list of the selected petitions is sent to the appropriate service centers for further adjudication of the petitions. The service centers would then continue with the final processing on those petitions.

Selected Petitions Receive Receipt Letter
In regards to all the petitions selected through the lottery process, the petitioners will receive a receipt notice, with the EAC Number, useful to track the status of your petition.

USCIS returns unselected Petitions with Fee
The USCIS will return those petitions not selected in the lottery to the respective petitioners along with the fee. It is also important to know that the duplicate filings will be returned without the fee.

Wait-listed Petitions
Some of the petitions would be marked “wait-listed” by the USCIS and those petitions were also selected under the lottery. These wait-list petitions may possibly replace petitions selected under the lottery for Fiscal Year 2015, but are subsequently denied, withdrawn, or otherwise found ineligible. USCIS will retain these petitions until a decision is made whether they will replace a previously selected petition

For those petitions applied under premium processing, USCIS will begin premium processing for H-1B cap cases on May 11, 2015.

But I have resigned from the company from which my H1B lottery got picked.So is there any chance to proceed from other company to file my H1B.

Above information shared earlier also by someone, so just reposting it here.
I guess whoever received there notification from USCIS are in-between above range.And i believe all are under premium processing category, that is the reason they are receiving notification directly from USCIS.
Under general processing category till June end applicants can wait .

Receiving H1B receipt does not confirm that you got your Visa. Once the receipt is generated, USCIS processes the selected application/petition. If everything goes well, It should be approved. Else it has to go through RFE. If USCIS finds anything wrong with the petition then they have every right ti Reject petition even if you got picked in random selection.

Can anyone tell, Till what date can I hope to receive the receipt number?
As far as I know, it’s done deal. People started getting receipts as early May 1st week. If your petition is picked, by now you should have got. But there are still some chances of you getting your receipt if you have filed your H1 from Vermont center. But I must admit the chances are really really less. All the best look for alternatives as well.

My employer says as the money is not deducted yet, it means the case is not selected. Is this true?If this is the case, all employers can know the case status without having to wait for notification from USCIS is n’t it?

Did some research in USCIS case status website. I believe this is the process they are following for PP(My assumption)
1) As soon as they generate receipt# for any case, they have message like below

This change mostly happens at that night/next day and email is sent.
They lawfirm comes to know about the status immediately.
So for guys out there. Do not loose hope. They have just started to to do premium processing receipt# and alsotodays number WAC1513650001 is also for premium processing. So everyone has chances to get.
Lottery picked applicants with premium processing have started receiving emails with receipt numbers.
If there is no mail received from USCIS till today, can I think that my application not selected in lottery?
Emails are not sent for regular processing. They will mail a physical receipt as they are available to the mailing address of the employer/attorney. USPS will take their time to deliver it.

You would get to know only when you receive the I 797 i.e. the notice from USCIS which has the EAC number.
